| What you are looking at (if it's facing West and daytime) is part of Bastrop Bayou, with some houses in the distance, one of the few trees on the island, and near the bottom is my floating EZDock. If you observe the gangway, you'll get an idea about the current tide level. If the gangway is nearly horizontal, then the tide is very high. If the gangway is at more than a 45-degree angle and doesn't touch the dock, then the tide is very low. Normal water level is when the angle is at about 30-degrees. If the time at the bottom of the image doesn't match the current time, then obviously there is a disconnect somewhere down the line. And, if that happens, it won't get fixed until I get down there again, which could be days or weeks. |
